Terms & Conditions

The following Terms and Conditions apply to all reservations made with the hotel.

Reservations / Bookings:

All reservations must be guaranteed with a valid credit or debit card which must be presented on arrival at the hotel. Please use you own credit or debit card for the reservation. We reserve the right to pre-authorise the card used for the reservation prior to arrival at the hotel. If the card is not valid you will be asked to provide a new card within 24 hours or the reservation will be cancelled.

The Hotel has the right to require full payment in advance or a deposit at the time of booking in certain circumstances. No Reservation shall be treated as confirmed until the details and/or payment/deposit described in this paragraph have been provided.

Accurate guest names must be provided at time of reservation and proof of identity will be required upon check in. All rooms are subject to maximum occupancy rules set by the Hotel.

Check-in / Check-out Requirements / Parking:

Check in time at the hotel is from 3pm onwards. Check out time is 11.30am (Late check-out after this time can be requested subject to availability and will be charged at a fixed amount at the discretion of the Hotel).

Limited car parking spaces are available for hotel guests on a first come, first served basis. No guest parking can be guaranteed. The hotel accepts no responsibility for guest’s cars or contents whilst in the car park. All cars being left in the car park must be registered with Reception at check in and a parking permit will be issued. Charges may apply.


For online reservations, we accept the following methods of card payment: American Express, MasterCard and Visa.

All reservations made under our standard cancellation policy as well as any outstanding incidental charges must be paid for in full on check-out from the Hotel.  For non-refundable reservations, we reserve the right to take full payment for the booking prior to check in.


We reserve the right and you hereby authorise us to charge your credit or debit card for any damage incurred to your room or the Hotel during your stay (including without limitation specialist cleaning) or for any items that are missing when you leave.

Smoking Policy:

The Columbia Hotel is a non smoking establishment and we respectfully ask our guests to adhere to this policy. If a room has been smoked in, it shall be necessary to apply a charge of £150.00 to the room account to cover additional costs such as deep cleaning and the necessity of having to put the room off for the following days guest arriving.

It is important to us that the rates we offer directly to our guests are the best possible rates available anywhere. Make your reservation directly with The Columbia Hotel via our website, phone line or email for the best rate, guaranteed. If within 24 hours of making your reservation you find a lower publicly available rate anywhere else online, we will be more than happy to match this lower rate. The Columbia Hotel reserves the right to modify or cancel this offer at any time at its sole discretion.


All children (a person under 16 years of age) staying at the Hotel must be accompanied and supervised by an adult.
Cots and extra beds are available on request. However, these are limited and subject to availability. Additional charges may apply. Please check at the time of booking.

Guest Behaviour:

Guests are requested to conduct themselves appropriately and to comply with hotel procedures. Guests are requested not to disrupt the comfort and enjoyment of other guests, impact on the smooth running of the Hotel, or cause offence to guests or hotel employees.  We reserve the right to refuse accommodation or services or remove you and members of your party from the Hotel if, in our reasonable opinion, we consider this provision to have been breached. Under these circumstances no refund will be given.

Force Majeure:

The Company accepts no liability and will not pay any compensation where the performance of its obligations is prevented or affected directly or indirectly by or as a result of force majeure or any circumstances beyond its reasonable control including, but not limited to, flood, earthquake, extreme adverse weather conditions, natural disasters, other acts of God, acts of terrorism, fire or failure of electric power, gas, water, or other utility service, plant machinery, computers, vehicles or any collapse of building structures.
