Our doors have always been open to artists. We want to celebrate emerging artistry and provide a platform to connect art audiences. With our in-house studios, residency programme and ongoing exhibitions, The Columbia is a diverse cultural space.
We work closely with Roman Road, a gallery space founded by Marisa Bellani in 2013. Well known for its contemporary art and photography exhibitions, Roman Road is recognised as a platform for collaborative art experiences. Marisa and the team are working with us to support emerging artistry and develop a rich, non-traditional arts programme right here at The Columbia.
Our residency programme brings together creatives from all disciplines, in a shared-studio environment, to promote collaboration and the exchange of ideas. Residents exhibit their work in a group show, at the end of every programme, right here at The Columbia. Exhibitions are open to our guests and the general public. Applications are now open for the Winter 2020/21 programme.
**N.B: Due to COVID-19 and the national lockdown, we have postponed the Winter Residency Programme. We’re unable to provide exact dates at this stage, however, it’s our ambition to launch the Residency Programme following lockdown, in line with the Government’s latest guidance. We’re hoping that the Residency can take place between March-May 2021 and we would ask applicants to apply subject to their availability during this period. In light of the postponement, we have extended our application deadline to 15th February 2021.
Redefining the traditional gallery experience. With group and solo exhibitions from emerging and established artists of all backgrounds, we’re curating a diverse arts programme across our five townhouses. Keep an eye on our exhibitions calendar to see what’s happening.
