Since temporarily closing our doors in March, our team has been implementing extra precautions and procedures to ensure our hotel is a safe and comfortable environment and follows the most up to date government guidelines. 

The health, safety and well-being of our guests, team and friends is of the utmost importance to us,  therefore new measures have been put in place to ensure social distancing and heightened cleanliness and sanitation can be met. 

This is what you can expect when you visit The Columbia:

Our Hotel

The hotel has been fully sanitised prior to reopening and we have an enhanced cleaning program in place. 

Whilst we pride ourselves on general cleanliness and housekeeping standards, we have increased the frequency of cleaning our public areas including card terminals, door handles, hand rails, lifts and public bathrooms, etc.

Antibacterial hand sanitisers (with over 70% alcohol ) are available throughout the hotel.

There is appropriate signage from the point of entrance and one way systems are in place where appropriate.

Our Housekeeping team will now service bedrooms on request in order to limit contact within rooms.

Our Guests

New lift rules have been implemented – limiting the number of guests allowed in the lift at the same time.

Contact details are being maintained in line with NHS Test & Trace.

PPE amenities may be available for purchase at the hotel.

Our Team

Our hotel team has received operating protocols and training on the latest government advice to ensure all are aware and understanding of the implications of Covid-19.

The hotel has digital thermometers in place to check the temperature of every team member before their shift begins.

Appropriate PPE will be worn by the hotel’s employees in all areas ensuring our team’s and guests’ safety at all times.

Social Distancing in our Bar, Restaurant, Lounge, Gallery & other public spaces.

We will continue to adjust food and beverage service in accordance with current food safety recommendations and government guidelines.

Walk-in dining may not always be offered to ensure we can serve our guests safely. Continental Breakfast To go is currently being offered with all bedroom reservations.

We have introduced space between tables and apply government restrictions on booking sizes taken – furniture should not be moved without permission from the hotel team.

Signs are situated throughout the hotel to remind guests to respect and keep social distance.

Social Spaces and Events

Our team has been developing operational plans to allow us to facilitate events in line with government guidelines as they are updated, which includes operational changes to room capacities, service and room set ups, revised guest movement flows, supply of personal protective equipment, enhanced hygiene and cleanliness procedures.
